Today you will research famous labor strikes in American History In groups of 3, choose from one of the following strikes from the Gilded Age to do your research. You presentation should include visuals as well as a timeline of major events.
In your presentation you need to answer the questions below:
–Who were the major figures involved in the strike (organizations, company, important people)?
–What were the grievances that led to the strike?
–Why could these grievances not be resolved through negotiations?
–How long did the strike last?
–What incidents occurred during the strike?
–What was the immediate result of the strike?
–What was the role of the government in the strike?
–How did the strike affect labor history in general?
–What legislation was associated with or resulted from this strike?

Individually, you will create a poster based on their study of the Bread and Roses strike, with the goal of persuading people to join the strike. You need to identify a target audience for their poster—e.g., women, men, a certain ethnic group, a certain type of workers—so that they could tailor the poster’s message.
