Part B- Assignment Reflection: You will keep a record of the effortful processing strategies you use to memorize the poem and write a one-page reflection on your experience.
Consider the following questions:
1. How did you feel about the assignment when you first learned about it?
2. Did you think it would be an easy assignment or would it be hard?
3. How long did you think it would take you memorize the entire poem? How long did it take you in the end?
4. Describe the kinds of strategies you used to memorize the poem. (Use the ones we have discussed in class - chunking, self-testing, spacing effect..etc)
5. Which strategies were the most effective and why?
6. In the end was the assignment easier after you used the strategies?
7. Which strategies would you use in the future and how would you use them?
8. Do you think memorizing poems, speeches, or passages is a beneficial activity that others should do?
