Slave Narrative Assignment
Your assignment will be to write a personal narrative story of a slave. You will write this story as if you were a slave in America. Your story should show understanding of the lives of slaves.
Project Guidelines
To have an acceptable grade, the final copy of your story must include:
• A narrative that shows understanding of the life of a slave
• Specific, accurate details about the 4 topics you selected
• Visuals that help tell the story of your character
• Clear, logical organization
• Authentic first person voice, including dialogue and description
• Neat and attractive appearance
• Proper conventions in writing

Character Sketch – Friday/Weekend HW (Bring to class on Tuesday)

Peer Editing – Friday, September 26th (in class)
